The SAFEBORDERS project, funded by the European Union under the Internal Security Fund (ISF), is launching a tender for the design, development, testing and deployment of privacy-preserving AI-based IT tools supporting the prevention and prosecution of trafficking in human beings, with particular focus on child trafficking.
The selected contractor will develop secure and ethical analytical tools capable of processing structured and unstructured anonymised data for research, prevention, policy development, risk analysis and training purposes.
Scope of the assignment includes:
- Requirements analysis with project partners
- System architecture and AI model design
- Privacy-by-design anonymisation mechanisms
- Bias mitigation and explainability features
- Testing, validation and secure EU-based deployment
- Documentation, maintenance and technical support
Eligibility
Bidders must demonstrate experience in:
- AI or data analytics software development
- Secure and privacy-preserving systems
- Handling sensitive or regulated datasets
- GDPR-compliant and ethical AI implementation

The platform pilot version is expected to be ready for testing by 30 April 2026.
